According to Jeroen Giltaij, who wrote the entry of this painting in the catalogue of the Kalf exhibition at the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam (Nov 2006 – Febr. 2007), this must be an early still life by Kalf, related to the one from Le Mans, dated 1643.
